>About Us > Our Founder Our Founder Barbara W. Rogers, Ed.S. , is lead chaplain for Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She is also founder and executive director of Christian Life Skills, Inc. Barbara has received numerous awards for community service, including the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission award for "her contribution in working with and counseling young people of the African American community in the Pittsburgh area." She has held a variety of academic roles at such institutions as Seton Hill College, the University of Pittsburgh, and the Wesley Theological Seminary where she was a visiting co-instructor in a course presenting the Christian Life Skills ministry. Barbara has also made presentations at a number of professional conferences including the American Association of Pastoral Counselors Black Caucus, and, the National Black Child Development Institute, Pittsburgh Affiliate. Barbara lives in Pittsburgh, with her husband of 31 years, Dr. John A. Rogers. They have two adult children, Aubrea and Deborah; and, two grandchildren, Chauncy and Arianna. Barbara enjoys bicycle riding, scrabble, and interpretive dance to sacred music. more information
